New hours effective Sunday, July 9
Cy Young Park and Pool has announced that the pool will now be open seven days a week beginning Sunday, July 9. Michael Wise, park manager, said the change in days and hours had been on his agenda since the beginning of the season. "The pool is doing well. We are ahead of last year, and that was one of our best years. So, it is time to make the pool available every day that is possible in the summer. We have had to close several days this season due to bad weather and equipment problems. Being open seven days should alleviate some of the pain from unfortunate closings."
Wise said that the hours of operation for all seven days will now be the same; 12-5 p.m., noting that Friday, Saturday and Sunday will no longer have longer hours.
In addition, the pool will also be open for Adult Swim seven days a week from 11 a.m. to noon. For the rest of the season, the admission for the adult swim will be reduced to $1 per swimmer.
"We have had so many individuals and organizations helping us to make our park shine. Step by step, we are making it better," Wise said. "We have had individuals and organizations volunteering, donating, painting, weeding and cleaning. Our little community truly is awesome and it is being proven every day."
